Q: We know you’ve worked at some amazing hotels and restaurants in your career. Can you tell us more about your background and any career highlights?

My career journey in hospitality began as a Banquet Attendant at the Intercontinental Sydney, while concurrently working as an Event Setup Duty Manager at the International Convention Centre, Sydney. Over the past seven years, I've had the privilege of working in diverse properties, including ICC Sydney, Hyatt Regency Perth, Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston, and Novotel Devonport. Throughout these experiences, I've held various roles, from Event Sales Manager to FO Duty Manager and F&B Manager, and now starting off an exciting new chapter in Tesoro Hobart!

Q: Being recently appointed as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager for Tesoro, what’s the best part of being in this role?

I'm thrilled to join Tesoro as the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, especially because it's my first time working in an Italian restaurant. As a true aficionado of Pizza and Pasta, I'm incredibly passionate about showcasing authentic Italian flavours to our guests. Becoming a part of Tesoro and Movenpick presents an incredible opportunity for personal and professional growth, and I'm eager to leverage my skills and expertise to exceed expectations and create memorable dining experiences for Hobart's foodies and tourists alike.

Q: What do you love about the way Tesoro maintains Italian authenticity with a modern twist?

In my first month at Tesoro, I've come to appreciate our dedication to preserving traditional recipes, particularly through our in-house dry aging process for meats. This commitment to quality and tradition sets us apart. Additionally, our integration of Tasmanian wines and beverages enhances the overall culinary journey at Tesoro, making it a beloved destination for both locals and visitors seeking genuine Italian cuisine.

Q: The Tesoro menu is a real treasure trove of gourmet treats. If you could choose only one, what is your favourite 'must try' dish?

If I had to choose just one must-try dish from the Tesoro menu, it would be the Half Marion Bay Chicken. However, I must also mention our Garlic & Rosemary Focaccia and Rigatoni, which showcase unique flavours with a modern twist crafted by our talented chefs. Be sure to experience these culinary delights during your next visit to Tesoro!

Q: We know you have a passion for all things wine and spirits – and supporting local! – So what gems will diners discover on the Tesoro drinks list?

At Tesoro, we take pride in our unique collection of drinks, with a strong focus on supporting local Tasmanian producers. Our menu features an array of Tasmanian spirits and wines, showcasing the best of Tasmania. I'm particularly proud of our whiskey collection, boasting 10 different types of Tasmanian whiskeys. Among them, my personal favourite is the Lark’s Classic Cask.
