Cheese Wheel Pasta in Hobart

Cheese wheel pasta in hobart

Now on: Tesoro’s tableside cacio e pepe cheese wheel ritual, inspired by one of Rome’s most iconic pasta dishes!

Try the next hottest dish on Hobart’s dining scene. At this tableside experience, watch as one of Tesoro’s experienced chefs finish fresh house-made linguini in a 25 kilogram wheel of Italian Pecorino Romano. First, the chefs flambé the cheese, then fresh pasta and black pepper are added and tossed together to create the perfect cacio e pepe. Cheese, pasta and flames – it’s the perfect recipe for a great night out.

After the show, it’s time to indulge. Enjoy the rich flavour of Italian cheese from Vivaldi Pecorino Romano in Lazio, balanced with a generous amount of freshly cracked black pepper, creating a creamy sauce that coats every strand of pasta.

Recommended Wine Pairings

Tesoro Restaurant Manager Jarrod Farrell has selected two white wines to complement the saltiness of the pecorino and the warmth of cracked pepper:

  • Broad Arrow Pinot Gris, Tamar Valley, offering ripe pear and stone fruit flavours balanced by natural acidity.
  • Monte Tondo Mito Soave DOC, Veneto, a classic Italian white with citrus, pear and mineral notes.

Both wines provide a fresh counterpoint to the richness of the dish. Add a glass for the most decadent experience.
